Pool Staff and Lifeguard Applications
Safety First!
All staff will be utilizing a “3 Strikes, You’re Out” policy with our youth members.

Our Aquatics staff is ready to serve you and keep you safe this season. Many of our lifeguards spend their Spring Break getting and renewing their certifications to help keep our membership and pool deck a safe place to be.
All staff will be utilizing a “3 Strikes, You’re Out” policy with our youth members. This means that if a child is breaking a rule or behaving in an unsafe manner, they will be reminded of the rule (Strike 1). The second time, they will be reminded and warned of consequences (Strike 2). The third time will be an immediate removal from the pool and they will be required to have a seat on the bench for 5 minutes (Strike 3), following up with the parent/guardian when possible.
Please help our staff keep the kids safe and review pool rules and general pool safety with your child at the beginning of the season. It is not our wish to bench children, but it is important that our Staff be clear around pool rules and expectations. Eliminating repeated warnings allows our Lifeguards to stay focused on aquatic safety for all.
If your swimmer (10 and under) wishes to swim in the deep end, past the black line, without adult supervision, please arrange with the Lifeguard to have your child take the swim test. The Lifeguard on-duty will administer swim tests at the swim break.
Just a reminder that our youth members must be at least 12 years old or accompanied by a responsible member 16 years or older to be at the pool. Thank you in advance for your support of our staff.

Lifeguard ApplicantS 2026
If you are certified, enrolled, or plan to enroll in an ARC Lifeguard Certification class, and would like to apply to be a lifeguard at PHA, please fill out a 2026 Lifeguard Application and send the completed form over to our Pool Manager.
Lifeguard Certification: You must have a First-Aid/AED/CPR/Lifeguard Certification to apply for this job. You must be 15+ by the last day of your lifeguard training to be certified. Some other recommended locations that offer American Red Cross classes are Heather Farms Pool and Pleasant Hill Recreation Swim Center.
*Aquatic staff are hired annually beginning in the month of January. The staff roster is normally finalized by mid-late February. Returning lifeguards are not guaranteed to be re-hired.
